Psalm 23 is SO much more than a nice poem to be read at funerals.

It sets the pace for the our walk with the Lord - as we learn to follow Him, hear His voice, and seek to emulate Him in all our ways.

This series began our 2018 with an emphasis on the pastoral and prophetic gifts.

I am a shepherd.

I will show others how God provides all their needs according to His riches in glory.
I will demonstrate a life of rest as an example
And I will lead them to the Prince of Peace.
As a shepherd I will help others restore their strength
And I will show them the path of righteousness, bringing honor to God.
When others face challenges of all kinds
I will remind them of the courage and confidence that can be found in Christ
When needed I will, with wisdom and sensitivity, guide others in the way they should go.
And when all is said and done we will share in celebration of all that God has done for us
While those who have opposed us, criticized us, and reviled us look on.
Together we will walk in the fullness of blessings
And the goodness and mercy of God will be our hallmark.
I am this kind of shepherd.
