Pink Church Day of Service will be at Go With The Flow Back to School Party.
Go With The Flow was created after discovering that school budget restrictions did not allot for an adequate supply of menstrual hygiene products to students, and the limited supply that was available, was often provided at the expense of school staff. An even more troubling find however, was learning about the different ways students themselves would offset their need by making makeshift pads and tampons from socks, towels, toilet paper, or other miscellaneous items; rationing out the items they had which meant extending their use and subsequently, increasing the possibility of getting infections; or not attending school at all.
Since January 2018, Go With The Flow has provided over 13,000 period packs to school districts and social service agencies and when the school year begins in August, will be expanding into additional districts to provide these essential items to even more students. The support of the community is and remains crucial to the work that they do and we invite you (and your family, friends, co-workers, you get the idea!) to their first official back to school bash to help them prepare for the 2019-2020 school year!
Come join Go With The Flow and Pink Church to make a few hundred (possibly more 😉) period packs that will be distributed during the fall semester! There will be light goodies to snack on, raffle prizes, swag to grab, and the best thing yet- the opportunity to support our students because: Menstruation Should Not Stop Education. Period.
REALLY want to get your flow on? Feel free to bring a donation of our most requested items: thin pads, panty liners and regular absorbency tampons!
